Members of the Class of 1949: Y You, the Class of 1949, have the honor of being the Hrst graduating class in the East Deer-Frazer Union School District. You have won first place in many activ- ities within the school, also. Your team has reached first place in football this year. Your homemaking class is the first class to use the recently acquired modern home making equipment. QA first class job of doing it, too.j You have the highest average in grades as aca- demic students, also the greatest number of academic subjects per pupil ever recorded in the high school. In personality you rank A plus. Your class has been noted for your courteous, respectful attitude toward your teachers. You are leaving pleasant memories be- hind you, both among teachers and underclassmen. You are the last class ever to have the privilege of being under the supervision of Mr. Clark. It is not nec- essary to remind you of the infiuence he has had in your lives, for you will have made many of his precepts yours. How fortunate you are! You are the last class to have Mr. Rometo for your football coach and for your class sponsor. In later years you will recall with pride that you were personally directed and taught by so fine a character. Yes, you are fortunate, indeed. You are leaving high school with glowing faces, kind hearts, inquiring minds, wearing the evidence of culture your years in high school have imprinted on you-all ready to begin to live. May the light in your eyes grow brighter, may your sympathetic attitude to- ward your fellow men deepen and grow with the years, and may your education become so broad that you will be the first to recognize your obligation to your fellow men and last to disregard the call of duty to yourself, your fellow men, and to God.
