Open house was observed at East Davidson on Sunday, October 20, with the program beginning at 2:15 p. m. The Reverend Kenneth Miller, Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church, gave the invocation. Mr. R.H. Buie, Principal of the new East Davidson High School, made the welcome to the visitors. Mr. D.W. McCulloch, Chairman of the DavidsonCounty Board of Education, added a few remarks concerning the new school. The junior Order of America presented a Bible and an American Flag to the school. Refreshments were served in the student union by the P.T.A. , following the program. The visitors were in- vited to tour the school. Teachers and students were in the classrooms to assist the visitors in touring the school and by answering any questions concerning the new school. The open house was very successful with an estimated 1500 persons attending. The new school received many compliments from the very welcomed visitors.
