Church of God in Kannapolis, he felT a definiTe, unchallenged call by G-od To leave The pasToraTe and come To ECBC in 4986. On The oTher side of The fence, a vacancy was creafed aT The posiTion of PresidenT of The College by The resignaTion of Dr. Henry SmiTh, and The resT fell righT inTo place. Mr. Mariin comes To ECBC wiTh a wealih of experience - besides having earned a Bachelor of ArTs degree from Lee College and a diploma from The CharloTTe Business College, he had been a member of numerous boards fihcludlng The College board of Dlrecfors, The NC Sfale Youfh Board, and The Naflonal lee College Alumni Councib, pasTored for 45 years, served as NC STaTe YouTh DirecTor for A yearsg was a member of The parT-Time faculTy aT ECBC in 4976, and has ToughT in The NC STaTe Summer Bible and Music lnsTiTuTe for 6 years. Looking Towards The fuTure. he plans To see ECBC Through The SouThern Associafion of Colleges and Schools QSACSQ accrediTaTion and plans To expand The Libraryg see ECBC grow Through concenTraTed PR, updaTed faciliTies, and an increasingly beTTer-qualify educaTional program. He sTill finds free Time To do ThaT which he loves - playing golf. Serving as Vice-PresidenT of The College, Dean of The College, and Dean of STudenTs would be over The abiliTy of mosT people. YeT, Dr. Oxendine has found The sTrengTh To fill all These roles wiTh ToTal commiTTmenT. A residenT of Gasfon CounTy for mosT of his life, he knows boTh The college and local Communiiy. Dr. Oxendine's academic endeavors have rewared him bouniifully. Afler graduaTing wiTh a Bachelor of ArTs degree from Belmoni Abbey College, he had also earned a MasTer of ArTs degree from Appalacian STaTe UniversiTy and Docior of EducaTion degree from The UniversiTy of NorTh Carolina aT Greensboro.
