Fentem Hall has provided an interesting and gracious home for hundreds of young men during the thirty years since it was built. Mr. A. L. Fentem, popularly known as Dad, who came to East Central in 1909, probably engendered more school spirit than almost any other faculty member past or present. His was the first band which used Tiger Rag as a means of cheering on the football squad. Fentem Hall proudly bears his name. Mrs. Beatrice Lewis, hostess of the hall, is deeply interested and concerned with the well-being of every young man housed there. College Hall, located on the northern side of the East Central campus, has served the college in a number of ways. At present, it houses approximately fifty young men stu- dents. Dorm father for the hall is Mr. Tom Jamison. s Fun FENTEM HALL 'thaw 'sg ., A7 new 47 Antoinette Fabrizio, John Michael, and Budd change ideas while eating. ,fe Q H A 'l ' . .VT .V -.....-- I 17: M KNIGHT HALL Knight Hall, oldest of women's dormitories on the East Cen- tral campus, is named in honor of a member of the original faculty of East Central and is dedicated to the memory of Miss Kate K. Knight, a teacher of mathematics. This hall serves as a gracious home for almost 200 co-eds. Living quarters are spacious, the rooms are well furnished, and the girls housed there find a charm about the architecture of the building. Mrs. Bess lrick serves as hostess for the dorm and does much to make Knight Hall a place of warmth and beauty. A former president of East Central State College, Mr. Charles W. Briles, is remembered in the name of Briles Hall, built in 1962. Mr. and Mrs. Briles gave much of themselves to the college during the years they spent at East Central, they later willed their entire estate to be used in providing funds to help needy stu- dents of East Central continue their education. The residence hall furnishes accommodations for 175 women students on campus. The hostess of Briles Hall is Mrs. Florence Ambrose. In addition to per- forming her duties as house mother, Mrs. Ambrose lends her glorious singing voice to many an evening's entertainment. BRILES HALL 1 The hub of all communications via the telephone is the switchboard. Lucretia Morris is seen here putting these important calls through. Apparently entertained by the T.V. program in the lounge of Knight Hall are Mike Sullivan and Brenda Hunter. Dormitor iff Sir .
