BOARD OF REGEN TS East Central State College, along with five other regional senior state colleges, is under the supervision, control, and management of the Board of Regents of Oklahoma Col- leges, which was created by a constitutional amendment adopted in 1948. This board is thus a constitutional board, and consists of nine members. Eight of the members are appointed by the Governor with the approval of the State Senate for over-lapping nine-year terms, and the State Superintendent of Public Instruction serves ex officio as the ninth member. Such a board, consisting of outstand- ing citizens interested only in the welfare of the students and of the public at large, gives stability to the Colle e and 8 enables it to pursue the most progressive educational poli- cies.
