The Senior Class was not left out. Seventeen-year-old Fernan- do Valasquez moved here with his family from Puerto Rico last summer for better job opportunities for his parents. Comparing lifestyles was not that difficult, however, everything has a contrast. For instance, he says that the schools here are better academicallyg even though his former school hours were 7:45-2:00. There were no foot- ball games, but soccer was the main sport. l miss going places with Orlando on the weekends, he said. Orlando is his 19-year-old brother attending New Orleans State University. He took up his time instead of pace with going downtown or to popular teenage night clubs around the city. Bowling looks like fun and I want to try it, he said. Being a sports fanatic, he put basketball at the top of his hobby list, and watched top- rated television show, 'Miami Vice'. Other differences in lifestyles were shopping. Mall hours were 9:00-6:00 during the week, and from 9:00-9:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. They were only open on Sun- days if there was a holiday, and if there was, everything was half price. Fernando learned conversa- tional English here, but he took it for three years in Puerto Bico. He says English is dif- ficult for him to speak and write. lgnatz Dzierzanowski Elosia Esqueda Georgia Fahrig Nadine Farmer William Favor Bret Ferguson Stacey Fisher Edwin Fisk Christina Flores Shawne Fox Boy Franckowiak Scott Freddie Kervin Freitag Alan Friesenhahn Sandra Friesenhahn Elena Gabor John Gandy David Gaona x QPQ Q:

Luck-stricken Traci Allen knew the feeling when she was crowned Princess of the Court of Mystic Africa last November. Fleigning princess for one year, her duty was to ride on a float in the Cotton Bowl Parade in Dallas. I also got a free ticket to the Cotton Bowl football game. lt was cold, but fun! , in she said. She was nominated by a friend who was duchess the year before, but says that she already knew she won because they had to notify me about five months in ad- vance so I would have time to make the dress and train. Traci was in Honeybees, Campus Life, French Club, and Centurions for Christ. From the Lutheran churches in San Antonio and surroun- ding cities, approximately 15 girls were chosen each year.
