Above: Mike Kopecki was chosen Pep Squad beau. For years the Homecoming Court has been made up of Juniors and Seniors only, but E. C. was destined to see a change in this tradition. In the past girls were nominated by the Junior and Senior classes, and the stu- dent body elected the Homecoming Court from the nominees. However, this year the Student Council believed that a greater amount of student participation and enthusiasm could be aroused if everyone, in- cluding Freshmen and Sophomores, were in- volved in the Homecoming ceremony. The result was a newly devised system for electing the Homecoming Court that involved people from all four classes. The Queen would be a Senior, the Duchess would be either a junior or a Senior, and there would be a Lady from each class. Donna Hendricks was elected Homecoming Queen, and Georgia Bennett was elected Duchess. Ladies were: Freshman, Beth Campg Sophomore, Gina LaSageg Junior, Mercedes Perezg and Senior, Rose Ann Hurriega. Awards given at the Homecoming pep rally were Mr. Spirit--Paul Berry, Miss Spirit-Darlene Piper, Teacher Spirit-Mr. ,lesser and Mrs. Moore. Mike Kopecki was announced as Pep Squad Beau. Betty Cure was announced Football Queen at the last home game. Activities 109
