Paul Maledon received a first in Editorial writing and Pat lVliller received a third in Feature writing at the Roosevelt U.I.I.. meet. The following competed in the District U.l.L. meet: Matti Wharton, Pat Miller, Penny Souder, Wayne Kitchens, and Paul Maledon. Penny Souder won lirst in Headline writing and fourth in Feature writing. She competed in the regional meet. The newspaper staff' received an Award of Achievement from the U.I.L. The '74 Hornet was given out, and refreshments were served. The annual staffs Christmas party was held on December 14. After searching through many possibilities, the annual staff finally selected Crossroads as the theme for the ,75 Hornet.
