C. 1. C. It is es- pecially dear to us because it is three dozen years ago that East Central opened its doors and made possible the heritage we now enjoy. Herein is contained an account of all important events and phases of college life for the year 1964-65. The purpose of this pictorial history is to preserve the record of this year and to link our future lives with our alma mater. Within these pages lie memories which will forever bind us together. As you turn each page of this Wo-He-Lo, we hope the echoes of the many footsteps made in the corridors, on the campus, in the library, and in the student center will inspire you to reach higher toward the goals instilled during this year at East Central junior College. In compiling this, the 1965 edition of your Wo-He-Lo, we have attempted to adhere to the modern trend in yearbooks. We feel that out of this modern trend a new and never before equaled style will evolve, .setting the precedent for future styles in yearbook publications. We have endeavored to capture the true feelings of unity, co-operation, pride and loyalty which make E. C. j. C. the greatest institution anywhere. Perhaps we have exaggerated the 1965 Wo-He-Log perhaps we have under- estimated it. That is for you to judge. We shall always cherish it because of our memories of East Central junior College. With these things in mind, we STAND PROUD as we present a closer look at the E. C. J. C. of 1965. The Wo-He-Lo Staff of 1965 2 f'N 'f- 'W'-. X .git 'K---fe-' DR. DOUGLAS M. MONTGONLERY President East Central junior College The theme of the l965 Wo-He-Lo is Standing Proud with E. C. j. C. There are many reasons Why the 1965 graduates of East Central junior College can stand proudly. The past year has seen a 222 increase in enrollment which is based not only on a growing population but more importantly on our college's reaching a greater percentage of the young people in our five counties. The increased student body is enrolled in a greater variety of programs enabling each student to obtain an education uniquely suited to his own educational requirements. We are also proud of the physical growth of our campus in the form of newer and better buildings. But most of all, our college is proud of its students and their accomplishments in later life. The students who have gone directly into industry are holding more responsible jobs with greater income than ever before. The students who have transferred to the senior institutions have done well scholastieally and are bringing much credit to E. C. j. C. It is now up to the class of 1965 to proudly carry on this great tradition. 6'-1 If X 1 Douglas M. Perhaps more vividly with the passing years each of us recognize what we, as the recipients of the wisdom and interest from the minds and souls of men and women whom we honor with this recognition in our year-- book we owe them in increased understanding and a heightened sense of values as well as specific kIJs0Wl8dgB and skill in our several fields of work. . The records show that these thirty individuals, who at present constitute our classroom teaching faculty, invested a total of 261 years of service in the lives of thousands of young men and women in the five area known as the East Central district. To each of us, however, our memories will recall personal relationships unique in our lives in which 'certain of these individuals became a student with each of us individually so as to share what he modestly thought might bear fruit in our lives. It is because of these relationships and of what we anticipate they will mean to us in later life, We f, spectfully and sincerely dedicate to those to whom we now refer as teachers the 1965 WOi.,I-MJLQQ5, if 9 A ' X Boofvfwuf a A -iw SENA.T0 1 O -k NORTHWEST 1' NOZZFJST MISS.
