I RETRGSPECT Dates may be tedius, dry-as-dust figures, monotonous to learn and remember. Or dates may represent exciting peaks of history and experience that stimulate over and over memories of thrilling moments that man and nations love to recall and to celebrate. The date of 1928 was only the prelude of many such memories in the minds of numerous individuals in the East Central area of the state of Mississippi. In that year East Central junior College opened doors to experiences that would become golden opportunities to high school graduates in the five counties of Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Scott and Winston. To every high school in that area soon began to come echoes of college honors won of victories in exciting athletic contests for which gleaming trophies were awarded, and often dramatics and musical productions featured names of local boys and girls who had discovered talents that no one, not even themselves, had dreamed they possessed. We honor those East Central graduates who, through the years, in the state and nation, have, by their achievements, built up extended esteem for the Alma Mata that the Wo-He-Lo of 1964 delights to extol.
