Along with these coaches the cleat wearers responsible for this golden season of football include brogue and brogueless , hill lovers and city slickers , husky he-men and fleet feeted miniatures, but all possessed a common trait-the love of the game and the desire to bring to their school cherished victories clad in sportsman- ship, clean play, and fairness, the essentials of the game which cover the skeleton of any athletic event. - This, you athletes have done and done in grand style. and we love you for it. Yes, we are grateful because you chose this manner in which to eam these glories, but the true gratitude comes because you chose this manner while playing in black gold. The season was long and you lovers of the striped turf lugged the leather on fields near and far. And it is for this reason that ye scribes were unable to cover in the proper manner all games. and too, it is for this reason that we chose to permit the little Warrior who missed not a single game, disguised as student spirit and loyalty for their athletes, to give an account of the season's play. As sun set in far west on sixth of September, Chief Hillery and Grace, along with Warriors mounted pintoes and rode into camp of Moorhead tribe and, Ul-ll when Warriors and Trojans started throwing fist instead of football, Little Pickaboo watch game from under bleachers. But much good ball play went on in a game as paleface say defensive ball play major role. Warriors brave, Tip Canady run like mad bull all night and scored lone touchdown in first half. When Warriors finished, they had six enemy scalps, and lost not one. DECATUR 31 BOONEVILLE 13 For seven days Warriors rest and Booneville tribe, big like mountain, slip in Decatur camp, but only to be sent back defeated by Chief l-lillery's braves who struck back like fighting tiger. Many scalps lost in battle by both tribes but Decatur had collected much greater number. Booneville had great advantage over dangerous Warriors as Decatur could press scales only twenty pounds behind enemy. ln battle, lackie Pope shot pass after pass straight and accurate like arrow and found exact mark three times for score as he threw to W. S. Donald for two touchdowns and one to Bill Waldron for score.
