TUM TUM 1949 Bearing proudly aloft its masthead, the TONI- TCM carries its slogan- Toward a Bigger and Better E. C. C. In attempting to translate this slogan into positive action, the TOM-TOM has en- deavored to keep students informed of school de- velopments and has participated in the promotion of public relations and the stimulation of school spirit. This publication appears semi-monthly, it is planned, edited, and financed by the students of East Central Junior College. In this way, students are offered opportunities for exploring possible in- terests in journalism and for experience in sales- manship, news reporting, and creative writing. Since its beginning in 1945, the TOM-TOM has grown from a four-page monthly publication to a semi-monthly eight-to-ten-page edition. Its circula- tion has increased from around 500 to approximately 1500.
