Quality as well as quantity has been characteristic of your class. You have been members of championship teams in athletics, and you have made signal contribution in both inter- and intra-school activities. During your stay you have increasingly assumed direction over student activities. The contributions in religious organizations especially have been outstanding. We have enjoyed your stay in our midst. for you have been cheerful, aggressive, and courteous, Several of your number have been called into military service during this year and many othei's of you will follow these soon. All of us are being called upon to render service to the nation in the several ways we can do it. The many strong talents you have been developing can be, and I am sure will be, used to the advantage of the community and your- selves as well, for it is in that way that the obligation can be discharged which you accepted when you took advantage of the benefits of higher training. We shall expect nothing less than capable and enthusiastic work from each of you. You are soon to join the growing host of alumni scattered everywhere. You will be proud to be among them, as you, like them, find your place in society. You go forth with our blessing. It is needless to say we shall be glad to welcome you back to see us from time to time, to learn with pleasure of your successes, and to learn with regret of your disappointments. Most cordially yours, .Z 6? Edd President '-'11:::-: ,zzxf-.avzw fe -fy - -f- -+-H -W -f V- - Y Sophomore Class Qfficers VERNE THAMES President ,W J. D.
