Carlyle, Dr. John H. Home. Board of Trustees Establishes Policies. The Board of Trustees of East Carolina College consists of twelve members, ap- pointed by the Governor and confirmed by the General Assembly of North Carolina. Appointments are for an eight year period, and terms are staggered so that three new members are appointed each biennium. The Board is a body corporate and an agency of the State, responsible for the management of the affairs of the institution and subject to the applicable laws of North Carolina. Henry Belk, Chairman, is the oldest in point of service, having served on the Board since 1945.
