East Carolina College N. c. Dear Students: The golden opportunities which lie before you are re- alistic, objective, and not far removed. To claim therri involves imagination, vision, initiative and a great deal of effort. Lincoln said, I ' ll prepare and get ready and maybe my time will come . This is what you have been doing for many years and now you are ready to accept a position for which you have been preparing. The extent to which you will succeed de- pends upon you--both upon your past preparation and your future ambition and willingness to work diligently and unselfishly to achieve. Strive to succeed not only in your chosen field of en- deavor but as a citizen a parent and worker in your church and community as well. To do otherwise you will fail to make the contribution to your fellow man of which you are capable. Don ' t fail. And be assured that your Alma Mater is proud of you and will always be interested in your suc- cess and ready to help you in any way possible. Fraternally yours , (y T J. D.
