THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION The Student Government Association was organized at East Carolina College in 1920. Under thirty-five presi- dents, S. G. A. has become a responsible administrative branch of the college in matters pertaining to student welfare, rendering worth-while services, both to the college and to the student body. The committees set up by the S. G. A. are created to purpose and carry out projects for the best interest of the students. These committees are vitally necessary for stu- dent control of campus activities such as Freshman Orientation, spirit planning, student activities, and many others. To fill these positions, qualified students are elected to carry out the general plan already set up by S. G. A. Constitution. S.G.A. PRESIDENT, Donald Umstead, is devoted to pro- moting a happy relationship between the administration, fac- ulty, and students of East Carolina College.
