RAGSDALE HALL Although Ragsdale Hall is not a new dormitory, it has taken on a new face. Now we see women stu- dents instead of men students com- ing through its doors. GARRETT HALL Garrett Hall, which is to open for women students before Christmas, promises with all its special features for students to be the most beautiful and modern building onourcampus. UMSTEAD HALL A beautiful new dormitory facing 10th street opened for men students in September. Recreational facilities along with a new telephone system add spice to dormitory life in Umstead Hall.

The spirit of EAST CAROLINA results from the spontaneous expression of social, educa- tional, spiritual, and sportsmanship activities of the college students, as they work toward the double goal of adulthood and graduation. In college a student finds a wide selection of cultural and social opportunities which are correlated with the curriculum. While living with contemporaries, college students estab- lish for themselves a set of values and learn to select the best from life with an aim toward living it.
