Prewett, who is both an educator and administrator, has helped to con- tinue the upward march of education here at East Carolina. Students have learned that they can turn to his office for assistance with their problems. A native of Georgia, he received his B. S. Degree from the University of Georgia, his M. A. from the University of Oklahoma, and then his Doctorate from the University of North Carolina. Before his appointment here he had been Junior Chemical Engineer with the U. S. Civil Service and a Training Foreman with Tennessee Eastman Corporation at Oak Ridge, Term. Dr. Prewett also spent two years in the U. S. Army in the office of Information and Education. Through the help and assistance of Dr. Prewett, and others like him, East Carolina is fast becoming a leader in state and national education. As a token of our appreciation for the credit which he brings to the college we dedicate this 1955 Buccaneer to him. U jj y Y
