If we have developed a wider apprea ciation for the world around us, it will be a night filled with the glories of the past. The failures will be there too, but they will seem insignificant and only strengthen our taith in our class and, most important, in ourselves. The good and the bad, the bright and the dark are ever present in these reflections - for these were years of tears and laughter. I II DEDICATION l i i The supreme art of the teacher is to awaken ioy in creative expression and knowledge. Chesterfield Between the first exciting day of school and the proud moment of graduation comes a parade of people who have earned the respect of the entire student body. Without their guidance and inspiration, we would be drifting aimlessly with no future in a world designed for the educated. But, really, what is a teacher? A teacher is a heart that is sincere and understanding. A teacher is a mind that is strong and wise. A teacher is a hand that guides towards success. A teacher is friendship and wit. A teacher is faith in tomorrow. -The students of East Bridgewater High School are most fortunate because we have had the privilege of knowing such a teacher. Our hearts are filled with tribute to this woman who has devoted her life to the youth of East Bridgewater. With a sense of glowing pride and deep dedication, the Class of T966 proudly pays tribute to Miss Mary Sullivan, Teacher. SLIPERI TE DENT'S MESSAGE Class of l966: The graduates of T966 stand at the threshold of a great and stimulating future. The significant issue before you is the dignity of the human personality and reverence for every human life. As young men and women, you are faced with a.call such as you have never before faced. lt is a challenge not of destroy ing but of building. A new frontier awaits you - a horizon whose boundaries are limited only by your imagination and good will. ln the words of Kipling, the frontier is waiting for you: MThere's no sense in going further, 'Tis the end of civilization, So they said and l believed it, Till a voice as loud as thunder Rang interminable changes on one Day and night repeated, Something hidden, go and find it, Go and look beyond the ranges, Lost and waiting for you. Go! everlasting whisper, Stanley B. Goldman Superintendent of Schools Dear Seniors: HToday is the Tomorrow we -worried about Yesterday. True enough. However, never be caught in the trap of that thought. Life has much to offer to those who seek it. Worrying can become merely an excuse offered by the non-worker, the non-thinker. Let it be said by you, MToday is the Tomorrow we prepared for Yesterday. Face the challenges of a task until you conquer it. Think out an issue until you have your conclusion. Our generation is proud of you, for your yesterdays were filled with accomplishments. Our gen- eration congratulates you, tor today you reach the threshold of maturity. Our generation realizes you are the tomorrow-sv. - Very sincerely Raymond A. Hamilton Principal PRlNCIPAL'S MESSAGE 'FQ SALUTATIO The senior class takes special pride in saluting a gentleman to whom we owe a great deal of gratitude. Words cannot express the admiration we have for this man who has led our class through the lowest valleys ot despair to the mountains of success. There have been times when we seemed hopeless, but he never gave up the confidence he held in our class. This heart is sincere. Here is a dedicated man. With laughter we remember the good times we had with him. With tears of sentiment we thank our class advisor, Mr. Robert Magner. i Vice-:Principal Mr. Joseph Morey Along with his duties as teacher, coach, and Viceeprincipal, Mr. Morey has the added distinction of being EBHS's chief private in- vestigator. While taking an active interest in our student body and its activities, Mr. Morey has remained a pillar of discipline and has brought to our school a certain esprit d'ecole. ,O b ADMINISTRATICDN and EDICAL ' ' 'lf i Y. n , 1,5 ' i Guidance Director Mrs. Jean Bumgardner lf you take a dash of wit, a dash of dedication and a pinch of enthusiasm, you have part of the dynamic personality of our new guidance director, Mrs. Bumgardner. Throughout the year she has taken an active interest in student affairs, counseled seniors in their college plans, and planned the curriculum with such vitality that she might be called the Hhuman dynamo. While the rogue disease occasionally appears in the dark, gloomy corridors of the high school, a ray of sunlight in the form of Mrs. Hartman, the school nurse, efficiently combats infectious rogues with the zeal and enthusiasm ofa miracle worker. Whether it be on the field or in the concert hall, the band has made an impressive showing in its sparkling blue and gold uniforms. While these musicians engaged in many rallies, concerts, and parades, the highlight of the year came in the spring when the band travelled to Ayre, Massachusetts, for an exchange concert. MAJORETTES The sparkle of batons, twirled by stylish maiorettes in blue and gold uniforms, has en: hanced the performances of our band this year. Whether or not on the stage or a cold football field, these girls performed with a spirit indi- cating fine talent. l 'rflx Lett to right: M. Philbrick, C. Fuller - Captain, S. Chausse B. Nelson, E. Under the leadership of Coach Paul Urban, EBHS completed a more successful season than the team has previously enjoyed in several years. Occasionally, balls were fumbled, and passes were inter- cepted, yet the fans continued to root for the Easties. Much to the opponents' disappointment, the winning spirit was ever present. 1 . - f' p J e xx s' i.1,53f+f ': '5i' JJ Flfw . v 'ev' ft 'NPV 1 Qi 'f'- A-' y J. -In ,W,A ff ,ff -'Gr Q5 ii- . a 'A' D mf - -rc 1 +391 . f 'K 3 211. We finished with a winning record of ll -8, highlighted by many close games. The competition was willing and we were ready to do our best. With sorrow we watched seven seniors play their last game for the Vikings. With pride we congratulate Captain .lerry Moxley tor his selection as a South Shore League All-Star. With smiles we remember our team's burning efforts to succeed fiat i X i Q!! Q 10 d Emma 344 a I jp, 22 6 QAEBBEW '94 rw, T.
