X169 opporfunzgf X0 Qarn uperintendenfs Message Class of I964: I would like to impress upon you the following considerations- Each of you really counts. The world will be a little better-or a little worse-because you have been in it. It is my sincere hope that you will show initiative in making even the slightest effort to change it for the better. There's nobody quite like you. You have been assigned a personal mission in life to fulfill that has been given to no one else. And it is up to you to carry through to the best of your ability. You are important. No one will ever be in exactly the same circum- stances or be offered the same op- portunities as you. Each has an eter- nal value for what he is and does. Do what you can. Recall the old saying I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. What I can do, I ought to do, And what I ought to do l will do. Sincerely, Stanley B. Goldman Superintendent of Schools

Prin ipal' Message And This our life exempt from public haunt finds Tongues in tree, books in the running brook Sermons in stones and good in everything. William Shakespeare, As You Like It The enioyment of reading, the identification with the printed page emotionally as well as intellectually which characterizes the effective read- er, is an important characteristic of the educated adult. To those who have learned the secret which transforms the printed page from abstract symbols into meanings which carry personal sig- nificance, reading of books becomes and remains a source of personal sat- isfaction for which there is no sub- stitute. With the library a vital part of your life and the librarian as your companion, books become your magic carpet. Reading then, becomes your passport into other countries. You meet other people, visit in their homes, travel their roads, share their experiences, and your ideas are stim- ulated. What fun, what a deeply satisfying experience. Sincerely, Raymond Hamilton Principal

Vice-Prin ipalg Guidance MR. JOSEPH F. MOREY, Vice-Principal Director Everywhere one turns, they will, no doubt, find Mr. Morey adding his humor and wit to the normal pro- cedures of everyday school activities. Besides being a coach and teacher, Mr. Morey has numerous iobs to fulfill in assisting our principal. There always se-ems to be a steady stream of students to the guidance office. Why? The answer lies in the personality of our new guidance director, Miss Mary C. Anderson. In addition to having ample time to listen to each student's problems, aiding seniors in college plans, and planning the curriculum, she finds time to be advisor to the Student Council and Junior Varsity and Varsity cheerleaders. Miss Anderson has gained the admiration, friendship and respect of all stu- dents in the short while she has been here. MISS MARY C. ANDERSON, Guidance Director iishsom..- -
