The Class of 1960 entered East Bridgewater High School on September 3, 1956. Thus began four years of high school life and a lifetime of memories, a A Q 1' an The first formal act of the class was the drawing up of a constitution and the 3 f election of four class officers. Crimson and white became the class colors, red and X If white carnations the class flowers, and The Golden Opportunity ls Never Of- '---- ' fered Twice, the class motto. Many freshmen purchased the class pin, a red and gold cut graced with the kindred flame insignia-. June 20, 1957, brought gradua- tion and a celebration in the form of a beach party at Charge Pond. If-X, The sophomore year included a tour of historical Boston. Highlights of this trip Ri were visits to Paul Revere's house, the Old North Church, Bunker Hill Monument, l I and the U.S.S. Constitution. The year continued with the move to the new school. V X2 Then on the stormy night of March 17 the Sophomore Hop was held. The cafe- Li 1 X teria did not contain leprechauns, but it was appropriately decorated with green hex, J A shamrocks. 'Z As another year came, the Class of 1960 proudly returned to the school as iuniors. This iunior year was filled with many exciting experiences, the first of h which was the purchase of class rings. The social highlight was the Junior Prom, Rhapsody in Blue. On May 1, 1959, the gymnasium became a garden of spring ll ,K flowers surrounded by a picket fence. The soft lights reflected the rainbow of ,QE lovely gowns, and everyone danced to the lilting strains of the orchestra. The 1 closing of the year saw some of the iuniors as ushers for the graduation activities 1529 of the Class of 1959. With the beginning of the senior year the Class of 1960 began a program Nt which was to bring to E.B.H.S. its first yearbook. The dramatic achievement of the 1. year was Quality Street, the class play, presented on December 11. Now the lc ii date of graduation fast approaches, soon seventy-nine seniors will become seventy- nine alumni. Commencement is both a beginning and an end. We begin a new life I and end our carefree school days. But with our diplomas we take priceless mem- E ories that will always lead us back to E.B.H.S. As Longfellow has so aptly said: y '9 If?
