C 'r r i BASKETBALL 48 BASKETBALL Review of the Season As far as basketball is concerned our little town by the bend of the river is still on the rnap. Why shouldn't we boast after holding the title of Clarion County Class B Champions for six consecutive years? Of course, its not just the Brady boys who have made our great name in basketball. This year we've been blessed with a Slippery Bock College graduate who has spurred the team on to many victories. That man is Frank Guesman our loyal coach and physical education teacher Starting the season with the Sligo Blue Jays we defeated them on their home floor When the Blueiays returned a visit to the Brady quintet they suffered a greater defeat The Bulldogs defeated Karns City our traditional rival twice during the season once by a narrow margin and the second time by a greater margin The Chicora Basketeers fell to defeat twice during the Bulldog s successful season Although the Parker High School basket ball squad put up a great fight the Bulldogs were victorious in both of the tilts Another victim fell to defeat when we played the Shippenville squad in the seasonal games A mar to a perfect schedule was suffered when a strong Mercer five defeated the Bull- dogs twice. A less exciting type of a basketball game was witnessed when the Brady Five trounced the Clarion4Limestone Lions for two consecutive victories. After the Bulldogs had beaten the Clarion Bobcats by a great margin in the first encount- er, the Bobcats returned a visit to Brady. ln an exciting over-time, the Bulldogs played themselves into the county championship for another year For a practice game so they thought the over confident Leechburg team came to Brady only to fall to defeat The Bulldogs lost their second encounter with this Class A league leading team The rivalry of the two teams Rimersburg and Brady was renewed when the Bulldogs were victorious in both of the battles of the season Two exhibition games were played with the Worthington Buffalos both being victor ious occasions for the Bulldogs We traveled to Punxsutawney for a play off with Sandy Township Although the boys played a vigorous game of ball they lost in an overtime of three minutes by two points This ended the very successful season of our Bull dog Champs BASKETBALL SCHEDULE Opponent Home Team Place Sligo Karns City Chicora Parker Shippenville Sligo Mercer Shippenville Clarion Limestone Mercer Clarion Karns City Leechburg Rimersburg Chicora Clarion Limestone Leechburg Clarion Parker Bimersburg Worthington Worthington Sandy Township East East East East East East East East East East East East East East East East East East East East East East Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady Brady C League Gfamesl 49 away away away home away home away home away home home home home home home away home away away away home away ' .................................,................................ 38 ..,.....................................,....,.............. 57 ' ................................................ 33 ...................................................,...,.... 34 ' ............,.......,,...................................... 33 ...................,..........,............................. 38 ' ' ........................,...............,.... 34 .......,.................................................... 40 ' ' ...........................................................,...... 37 ..........................,................................. 56 ' ' ...,..............,..........,,,............. 21 .........................................................,.. 43 ' ' - ' ...................,.......... 31 ..........,.........................,,.....,................ 48 ' ' ............................................................ 32 East Brady ............................................................ 53 away ' ................................................... 37 ...................,.......................,................ 42 ' ' .........................,.........,............ 28 .............................,.............,................ 43 ' ...,...................,.................,............... 37 ............................................................ 42 ' ' - ' ...............,.............. 23 ..,......................................................... 57 ' ' .,..........................,....,.........,................ 35 ............................................................ 39 ' ' ................................................ 27 ............................................................ 29 ' ............................................. 31 ...............................,........,................... 45 ' ...................,......................... 19 ........................,................................... 44 ' ........,..................... 43 ................................,........................... 41 DRAMATIC CLUB 0 0 9 fa ARTS AND CRAFTS CHEERLEADERS so , , 2 I . 1 ? at NN., ,. .- , . - ' 4' - E' 1 S . . . , 36 it 'W L ,g PARKER BROTHERS PLUMBING, HEATING fmd W.
