This year the students of East Bethlehem are beginning to realize more and more the seriousness of the con- flict in which we are now engaged. Probably the one fact that is the most noticeable is the great decline in the number of stu- dents. Wle Seniors are graduating with fewer than one-half the number who enrolled as Freshmen. Accordingly, the task of publishing our annual has become much greater. However, through the splendid cooperation of all concerned, we have again collected the facts and happenings of another school year to form what we hope will be a successful Bethescope. Though we leave the familiar scenes of East Bethlehem during a time of great strife, We have instilled in ourselves memories which We shall continue to cherish long after- wards. VVe, the members of the staff, have tried to convey to you, the undergraduates, the events that have made our stay here a very happy one. Our only hope is that the years which you spend with our Alma Nlater remain as dear to you as they have to us.
