Class Hrstory As we demonstrated our abllltles ln things currlcular and extra curricular we were led by Presrdent Lours Zanolll vrce presrdent ulra Bodnar secretary and treasurer Naomr Rankln As we took up the seemingly mysterious roles of upper classmen we couldnt help looking back at the freshmen and sophomores wrth dlsdaln But that didnt last long for soon we were engrossed rn the flnanclal problems of unlor days However when the un1orSen1or prom was held lt compensated us fully for our efforts ln those arduous days the class was led patiently by Presrdent Anthony Scar cella VICC presldent Helen Buber secretary Matllda Saladna and treasurer Lloyd Plper Most certalnly the class had abllltles for leadershlp for lts mem bers worked faithfully ln nurturlng the lnfant among our school or g3IllZ3t1OI'1S the Student Council Somehow those problematic days ended and l939 found us a body of dignified Seniors ulla Bodnar became edltor of The presldent of the Student Councll The boys were so lnterested ln athletlcs that the glrls took over leadershlp ln other flelds But the boys were vlctorlous polltlcally when Anthony Scarcella was elected president of the Senior Class Other officers mcluded Vrce president Howard lsenberg secretary lVlat1lda Saladna treasurer Lloyd Prper The dramatlc talents of the class were demonstrated 1n an lnsplred presentatlon of The Yankee Kmg under the dlrectlon of MISC Adams Two able SCDIOFS Howard lsenberg and Paulme Volcheck had the leading roles The Class of 40 found that from one hundred and twenty two lts enrollment upon entry as Freshmen the membershlp had dwmdled to seventy five the smallest class to graduate rn three years lts mem bershlp Included two brothers and srsters Lols and Lloyd Plper Falflla and Frank lVlar1n1 and five couslns Wllma McNulty Naomi june Warren and Wllllam Rankm Llttle more can be sard about the members of our class As the curtam was slowly drawn on our hlgh school days C-raduatron Bacca laureate and Class Nlght welghed heavlly upon our mlnds But all of our problems couldnt dlspel a secret regret that we had to leave the famllrar scenes we had grown to love Fzfteen J .
