EE COUNTRY KANAWHAN a -- 1986-87.. , 1 East Bank, WV 25067 7 7 . , 7 V Volume 72 5 Dear Fellow Students, When we took on the job as editors of the 1987 Kanawhan,we knew the task would be difficult. We began with one goal in mind - the completion of a yearbook that would keep our senior memories frozen in time as the years of our lives melted away. .i The road we took was long and filled with many obsta- cles. Luckily, there were many people who helped us along the way. They were the bridges across our valleys of confusion. We would like to thank these people for their contributions: Mrs. Blake for her patience and un- ' derstanding, Steve Willis and Jondavid Duvall for their photographic contributions, and many others whom we will not take the time to mention. You know, however, who -,-.. you are. A special thanks goes to the Senior Class of 1987 . . . without you there would be no senior yearbook. The Kanawhan staff would like to say a special thanks to Mr. Basil Gray as he leaves East Bank High School, and we wish him much happiness in his retirement. ,. ..n. Andy Enochs, John Games, and Jamie Kinder were all sixteen-year-old members of the Junior Class. The entire student body was saddened by the loss, but the Junior Class lost three of its academic and athletic leaders. It is with love and respect that we pay tribute to them. Andy Enochs Jan. 18, 1970 - Aug. 28, 1986 Andy attended Marmet Junior High School where he was President of the Junior Na- tional Honor Society and was chosen Most Valuable Athlete. As a sophomore at East Bank High School, he was selected to play varsity basketball. In addition to his outstanding basketball tal- ent, he was able to maintain a high scholas- tic average. 58lJuniors An Enochs, Games, and Kinder Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established to per-i; petuate the high qualities demonstrated by these three. The fund will award annually a scholarship to one or more members of the East Bank High School Senior Class to be used at a college of their choice. Jamie Kinder Jan. 22, 1970 - Aug. 27, 1986 Jamie was a hard-working student and was very active in his school and church. While at Marmet Junior High School, he was a member of the football team. In 1984, he was selected for the Kanawha Valley All Conference Team. As a sophomore at East Bank High School, he was a starting player on the football team and also played baseball. John Games Dec. 10, 1969 - Aug. 27, 1986 John was a very good student, an out- standing athlete, and a leader. While at Marmet Junior High School, he played first string offense and defense football. As a Sophomore at East Bank High School, he started on the varsity football team. He was also especially interested in weight lifting. 60lCandids Candidsl61 SOPHOMORES 63 SOPHOMQRE SENATE ??:rwjam ' ISeatedI Heather Morris, Anessia Batten, Karen Miller and Lisa Rogers.
