East Bank had eight first downs to Oak Hill's seven. But the Red Devils had 160 total yardage, all on the grotuad, to 116 for the Pioneers. The Pioneers rushed for 96 yards and completed two of 11 passes for 20 yards. Dunbar-East Bank--Pioneers defeated Dunbar Bulldogs 7-3 in a final quarter drive. With jack Landers and james Farley, sparking the attack, the Pioneers cnalked up four first downs and penetrated to the Dunbar 5. From that point Hugh Reynolds bulled over for the game 's only touchdown. Huntington Central-East Bank--The Huntington Central Pony Express downed the East Bank Pioneers 12-0. East Bank tried to come through the fo1.u'th period when jack Landers snared a Huntington pitch out on the Pioneers' 15 and ran it back to the Express 20, where he was halted. Logan-East Bank--East Bank handed Logan a 27-12 loss. Hugh Reynolds scored two touchdowns for the Pion- eers. David Adkins and jack Landers also scored a touchdown. Gifford Basham kicked the extra point. South Charleston-East Bank--South Charleston beat East Bank 13-6 in the Pioneers' annual homecoming game. East Bank's only touchdown was scored by Jack Pauley on a 15 yard end run. Charleston-East Bank--Charleston High's Mountain Lions defeated East Bank 25-6. East Bank fielded an offen- sive unit that ran surprisingly well against Charleston, but the Pioneers weren't able to push over a touch- down until the final period when David Adkins went off tackle for the score from the one inch line. Stonewall jackson-East Bank--East Bank downed Stonewall 25-0. Touchdowns were made by Hugh Reynolds, David Adkins, Gifford Basham, and Arvid Estep. Basham kicked the extra point. It was the Pioneers' first triumph over the Generals since 1946. Montgomery-East Bank--East Bank exploded for 9 touchdowns to trample the Montgomery Greyhounds 60-6. jack Pauley, David Adkins, and Hugh Reynolds each scored two touchdowns, with Mike Dotson, Bob Masker, and joe Chrest each scoring one. Five extra points were kicked by jack Landers and one by Paul Hall. Beckley-East Bank--Beckley's Flying Eagles edged past East Bank in a 14-13 thriller. The Pioneers' touch- downs were scored by David Adkins and Hugh Reynolds. The extra point was kicked by jack Landers. DuPont-East Bank--The Pioneers romped DuPont 46-0 with David Adkins leading the attack with three touch- downs. Also scoring touchdowns were jack Pauley, Hugh Reynolds, jack Landers and joe Chrest. Extra points were made by Pauley, Reynolds, Landers and Masker.
