VARSITY TEAM The East Bank Basketball team was also very inex- perienced in that only one senior was on the squad. The rest of the team was made up of sophomores and iuniors. The Basketball schedule was also filled with tough teams and although the team lost several games, they were never by very decisive scores. The Pioneers drew a Cbye in the Hrst game of the sectional tourna- ment held in the local gymnasium. Playing Seth in the championship game, we won 39-36, thus winning the sectional crown and a chance to play in the regional tournament held at Charleston. The team fought hard but was beaten by Stonewall Jackson 61-45. The Basket- ball team did not have much success and ended the season by winning seven games and loosing fourteen. East Bank looks toward the future with these sophomores and juniors as more experienced players.
