Glenn, C. Hancock, W. Hughes, P. Chappell. FOOTBALL 1 This year, 1948-49, was a building one for the East Bank Pioneers. The Football team was composed of many sophomores and juniors and this resulted in an inexperienced team. There were only seven seniors in the entire club. The Pioneers lost seven games, tied two, and won one, although they played hard and gamely. The schedule was one of the toughest played by East Bank and consisted of Oak Hill, Mt. Hope. Hinton, Stonewall Jackson, Charleston, South Charleston, Triadelphin of Wheeling, Huntington East, Saint Albans, and du Pont. The return of many under classmen and the expectatiohn of some promising sophorores from our junior High Schools, makes the prospects for 1949-50 look very bright. Page Fifty-six
