They yvcre all needed. however, to plan lay- outs t'or 23923 senior pictures, 100 faculty pictures, and dozens of informals, and to compile the index of over 2100 names. The sports staff checked on thc activities ol' fifteen teams and organircations. Vopy was written by a staff of six, and typed and copyread by seven others. An increase ol' sixteen pages yvas necessary to tell thc story ofthe year completely. The Speculum is entered in the National Scholastic Fri- tical Service and has received an All- American rating eleven consecutive years. The business staff pushed the lagging pa- tron drive yvhich reached a total of 532,121.- 50. They handled all contracts and all cor- respondence connected with publishing the book. In June they distributed 1500 books. Business staff members - S. Weber, P. Coleman, J. Navo- ta, S. Sauve, and J. Worby list and alphabetize patron cards with the aid of Mr. Spurlock, business adviser. lil

There were seventeen issues of the news- paper this yearg the regular staff issued fifteen and the classes taking journalism put out the last two as practice toward working on next year's staff.
