They' reflect our ideals and what we believe. XVe knew that our class would play an especially large part in forming the tra- ditions of the new school since we were the first to graduate from the completed building. lt was our job to carry over and establish the old traditions in the new building and form and build new ones which would live and grow. Some tradi- tions were so esteemed they had to be carried to the new school. Minstrel, Va- rity Show, and lvv Day did not belong to one school or class but to every student who ever went to East High. The Ifasts XVest game and all athletic competition. Speculum, and :Xuroran are not looked upon as extras but as a part of our school life. Thev belong to only us, and we are so very fond and proud of them. lt was a thrilling moment, one of won- der and awe, when we entered our beauti- ful new auditorium on opening day. The cheery color scheme, massive stage, sweep- ing balcony, and soft lighting were al- most unbelievable. After seeing the audi- torium, we scurried to see the completed swimming pool. Soon the wonderful first thrill we all experienced changed to an even deeper feeling. An indescribable warm feeling way down deep in us de-- veloped, a feeling that grew, and the more we thought about it the bigger it got. Last year amid the constant turmoil we never fully realized what a wonderful school we have.
