l'Lookl we exclaimed in stunned amaze- ment when the boys rolled back the slid- ing wall revealing the new gymnasium in all its breathtaking splendor. Back in class we tried to concentrate on formulas, King Henry lll, or Chaucer for that dreaded Monday test, but it was no use-- visions of excitedly cheering or graduat- ing in that beautiful gym kept popping into view. As time passed, we boasted that we were accustomed to the newness of the school, but were we? Some of us still got lost, and teachers said, l'XVell, good-bye class. XVe loved a good argument about everything from poor Nluttnik in the Sputnik to who would win the basketball tournament and laughed about such things as the bleating class buzzers with laryngitis and the really sack sack dresses. :Xt night we cheered ourselves hoarse in the new gym and stuffed ourselves with pizza after- wards. lluring the spring months, we practiced for plays, programs. or music festivals.
