After 4 Year seen here. Some he remembers are Allmert Pike. Elmer Moos, lYalter lVitte, Jimmy Smith, Paul Patterson, Freddie Foster. John O'Neil, and Rudy Nebel. East High has produced great athletes and teams who have received many honors and thrills. but Mr. Davis believes the greatest thrill was the trip the football team of 1914 made to New York to play Hamilton Institute. In his 43 years of service to East lligh and the people of Aurora, Mr. Davis has held many offices, both as teacher and as an athletic director. One of the greatest honors was the naming of East Highs athletic field, Roy E. Davis field. Some of his other honors are President of the Teachers' Association, P1'esident of the Northeast Division of State Athletic Associations, President of the Fox Valley Coaches' Association t w i c e . Secretary- Forfy-ihree roses, each symbolizing a year of service uf East High, were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Davis at the Homecoming game by D. Ochsenschlager, alumnus. Treasurer of the State Coaches' Associa- tion, and his most recent award, the Merit Award Certificate of the State Coaches' Association. A brightly lit field with the band playing during the half, and a vast crowd-this is R. E. Davis field at every football game. The field was named for Mr. Davis in I947. W 4. p,?,, ,. w ,KVMVIPQQ4-'P
