Change Homeroom Period, Add Classes, More Majors Faculty committees planned several changes which were put into elliect this year. the chief change being the elimination of the homeroom period. A ten-minute homeroom period was held in the morning for the purpose of talcing attendance and reading daily hulletins. This Provided eight periods a day and gave students an opportunity to take extra courses. Incoming freshmen were required to take live majors. Two new freshmen courses were intro- ducede-orientation and community civics. Ori- entation adjusted freshmen to high school life and acquainted them with rules and traditions of liast High. while community civics ac' quainted them with forms of city government. Another change was the requirement that all students have a notebook. The activity ticket plan was studied hy the faculty council and a new systefn was put into Lloyd R.
