JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, erected in 1892, served as the high school building for twenty years. It is still used for high school printing and woodworking classes. ...W J AN ADDITION was built on the southeast sec- tion of the school in 1956. East High is now marking its thirty-seventh anniversary on this site. IN 1869 the high school classes were held on the fourth floor of the Center School building. The growing enrollment brought a demand for another high school. THE PRESENT EAST HIGH school was built in 1912 to relieve the over-crowded conditions of the previous building. This building was suf- ficient until enrollment reached 1900.
