Defense work came into East High this year. especially for the Shop boys. These classes were assigned work on model airplanes. These planes were built according to specifications, and were used in defense training. Here are a few of the boys setting type in the Print Shop where many East High programs, papers, tickets, and other materials are printed. The Auroran also is rolled off the presses in this class. The recording machine is of use not only in the Speech Classes but also in the Iournalism Depart- ment. Here the instructor gains firsthand information preparatory to making assignments for a radio broadcast. This scene shows cz little more of the Road to War program given in convo and mentioned on the opposite page.
