Bumgardner With a certain sense of satisfaction I observe a definite seriousness of purpose among you. Generally you recognize an obligation to assume responsibility for your own careers. You have come to realize that the decisions you make have significance: that each decision has a bearing on one that may follow. This careful preparation for the next step that I have noted makes us optimistic concerning your future years. Donald T. Graves May you continue in your determination to be successful persons, each of whom will make for himself a place of leadership in whatever place he lives. Hold fast to your high standards and ideals so that above all you are conspicuous for high char- acter. As you graduate go forth with faith and may the God of that faith go with you. Walter L. 0l QlfU0l ife is like a game of chess in that every move in the game leads inevitably to future moves and to certain success or defeat. We, as seniors, are facing a most important move in the game. As in chess, so in our lives, we must contemplate our moves carefully and make our decisions wisely. One becomes skilled in the challenging game only through learning and doing. So in life, as we carry out our decisions, we become able to live well. Our success or failure in the future depends upon how well we move through early steps, and how much we put into our education and preliminary training. In the game of life some of us will be tomor- row's leaders-the kings and queens. Others, the people, who are the nation itself, will be the knights and pawns. What ever our place in life, we will realize that its foundations were laid in our high school days. Thank you, Alma Mater, East Aurora High School, we'll always love thy name. 64154 of 1956 Q ---Q Q aagaaaaaimi illn----1 3
