Surely there were many times when he won- dered: X'Vill this play he successful? Nevertheless, we know he simply worked with the materials he found at hand, adopted them, and embued them with his own personal touch. For surely the exploring of those qualities that are mankind and therefore universal is the reason for the timeless appeal of Shakespeare.
