Wixvawe MR. MILLARD HENRY Senior Adviser Mr. Henry will long be remembered by all who know him as the man who did more toward our class as a whole than any other person. For several years now he has worked faithfully with us, encouraging us - when we needed it and helping us along the hard road' toward graduation. We cannot forget that much of the success of our magazine and Christmas card sales were because of his efforts. His famous home- room peptalks were taken to heart by most of us and his advice will serve as a real asset to our future. Mr. Henry, our hats are off to you! MISS EILEEN DIETRICH Senior Adviser To Miss Dietrich, our faithful adviser during our final and most prosperous year at East Aurora, goes our sincere thanks and appreciation. She has helped us over countless pitfalls during our senior year. She has given us a great deal of encouragement, guid- ance and help. Miss Dietrich will long be remember- ed for directing our class along the road to success. Any success that we may have in the future will be de- pendent--at least in part--upon the help that she has given us. MR. CARLO NISITA Senior Advisor To Mr. Carlo Nisita, our yearbook adviser, goes our sincere thanks for his faithful service to the Class of '54 in guiding us through the difficult job of publish- ing the yearbook. The road to success in this book has not been easy and our gratitude goes to Mr. Nisita for his guidance and understanding help with the product- ion. We want him to know that all the work he has done in order to make our yearbook a success has been ap- preciated. E711 ya

MISS HARRIET STANB RO Guidance Good luck and best wishes. It has been pleasant working with you these four years, watching you mature, and seeing you develop your interests and skills. There will be countless opportunities for you to show your 'leadership and to use the training you have had in high school. May each of you find success as individuals and as useful citizens in your community. Come back for a visit whenever it is possible. MR. ALFRED H. RICHERT Guidance You have chosen a theme which has universal appeal to men of action and adventure. It is interesting to note that civilizations con- nected with the dangers of the sea have of necessity become a coura- geous and skillful people. In order to reap the profits of a maritime occupation, together with its thrilling adventures, certain attributes are essential: a will to work hard, ability to face up to the realities of storm and calm, and a readiness to discover new methods, as' well as skill to matching wits and daring with the vagaries of mother nature. May you put out to sea in like spirit, seeking new horizons, find- ing all the glamour and the constancy, the strenght and the wisdom which comes with maritime experience. MRS. MARY V. AUSTIN Guidance At commencement, your school sends you out to do the hardest job of all. It is one which takes courage, initiative, and a sense of responsibility - this task of being part of a team to create a better world for everyone. One individual by himself can create little when the task is such a great one. The thought of being, even in a small measure, respon sible for accomplishing such a task is frightening. Yet it is with con- fidence that your school sends you out to do your part. I We trust that your years in East Aurora High School have fitted you intelligently and actively to cooperate in every worthwhile effort to bring us closer to world peace. MR. WILLIAM BEEBE Guidance To the class of '54, as you leave E.A. and go forth on the un- charted oceans before you: Rember that you have conquered the storms, enjoyed calm days, and weathered both here. May you meet all the rough and calm seas which lie before you as success- fully as you have faced them here in E.A.H.S. lt's not the gale, but the set of your sail that determines where you go. l6l
