MR. WALTER L. BUMGARDNER ' Superintendent of Schools You have met the challenge of your school days well. You intend, when you choose a part of the unconquered universe for your Yearbook theme, to continue to meet challenges. This is the true spirit of America. This attitude is the outgrowth of the initiative and independence that make ours a dynamic society. Your achievements re-infor-ce our confidence in all youth. Continue vigorously as you have started and we will remain a responsible, mature, progressive people. God bless you as you go into the active business of life. MR. THOMAS C. MOORE Highschool Principal Looking forward to Commencement is a pleasing and gratifying experience for each member of the Senior Class. There is satisfaction and worth in the completion of work well done and the many achievements of the Senior Class are a point in fact. The statement that the worth of a tool depends on the user is very apt. Indeed, if we are care- ful and wise users of whatever we have, then our progress is certain 60 be noble and constructive. Very best wishes to the Class of 1954. MR. H. LEWIS MCNEIL Junior Highschool Principal It is with pleasure that I address a few remarks to you through your Yearbook. Away back in 1948-49 when you were Seventh Graders I called most of you in, one by one, asking you where you were going and what you wanted to become. Many of you didn't know. You have come a long way since then. How- ever, you are merely at the beginning. You are commenc ing your adult life, which is what Commencement means. If you use the same judgment and stick to your life job as thoroughly as you have to your school job, you will be happy and successful in your new venture. Our best wishes go with you. l5l
