Qzflffbfflillff The class of 1954 and Mr. Nisita, yearbook advisor, wishes to acknowledge Mrs. Marion S. Peek, English Supervisor, for her all-important services renderedto the copy staff of the AUROR.AN . Also, may we extend our gratitude to the faculty and personnel for the patience, understanding and counsel they have so generously given. 11211 MISS EILEEN DIETRICH Miss Dietrich came to us in our Senior Year. She has given unselfishly of her time to chaperone our many class functions, help us decorate, and even cleanup afterwards if the need arose. These many things were not expected of her, but she gave of her time because she enjoyed the company of the people working with her. She has always been a person with whom we could joke and has given the class something to smile about on many a dreary day. Il3l MR, MILLARD HENRY Mr. Henry has, for the past two years, been the backbone of our class. He has led and inspired us when we have felt that utter defeat was at our door- step. Spurring us on with tireless energy, he has made us into the men and women we are today. Always a square-shooter, there was never a time when we could not go to him with our many problems, for he always tried to solve them as best he could. Mrs. Arthur Zent, Mrs. James Ford, Mrs. William Standeven, Mr. Donald Graves, Mr. Arthur Willert Mr. Edwin Bean, Mr. Micheal Kaiser, Mr. Willard Wechter. Mr. Donald T. Graves IS' rd zff5dumfi014 Congratulations to the Class of '54, for a job well done. We of the Board of Education are proud that you have successfully completed your high school career in E,A.H.S. You are going to be missed, so come back to visit Whenever oppotbxn- ity offers. E411 I 4 l MR. WALTER L. BUMGARDNER ' Superintendent of Schools You have met the challenge of your school days well. You intend, when you choose a part of the unconquered universe for your Yearbook theme, to continue to meet challenges. This is the true spirit of America. This attitude is the outgrowth of the initiative and independence that make ours a dynamic society. Your achievements re-infor-ce our confidence in all youth. Continue vigorously as you have started and we will remain a responsible, mature, progressive people. God bless you as you go into the active business of life. MR. THOMAS C. MOORE Highschool Principal Looking forward to Commencement is a pleasing and gratifying experience for each member of the Senior Class. There is satisfaction and worth in the completion of work well done and the many achievements of the Senior Class are a point in fact. The statement that the worth of a tool depends on the user is very apt. Indeed, if we are care- ful and wise users of whatever we have, then our progress is certain 60 be noble and constructive. Very best wishes to the Class of 1954. MR. H. LEWIS MCNEIL Junior Highschool Principal It is with pleasure that I address a few remarks to you through your Yearbook. Away back in 1948-49 when you were Seventh Graders I called most of you in, one by one, asking you where you were going and what you wanted to become. Many of you didn't know. You have come a long way since then. How- ever, you are merely at the beginning. You are commenc ing your adult life, which is what Commencement means. If you use the same judgment and stick to your life job as thoroughly as you have to your school job, you will be happy and successful in your new venture. Our best wishes go with you. l5l MISS HARRIET STANB RO Guidance Good luck and best wishes. It has been pleasant working with you these four years, watching you mature, and seeing you develop your interests and skills. There will be countless opportunities for you to show your 'leadership and to use the training you have had in high school. May each of you find success as individuals and as useful citizens in your community. Come back for a visit whenever it is possible. MR. ALFRED H. RICHERT Guidance You have chosen a theme which has universal appeal to men of action and adventure. It is interesting to note that civilizations con- nected with the dangers of the sea have of necessity become a coura- geous and skillful people. In order to reap the profits of a maritime occupation, together with its thrilling adventures, certain attributes are essential: a will to work hard, ability to face up to the realities of storm and calm, and a readiness to discover new methods, as' well as skill to matching wits and daring with the vagaries of mother nature. May you put out to sea in like spirit, seeking new horizons, find- ing all the glamour and the constancy, the strenght and the wisdom which comes with maritime experience. MRS. MARY V. AUSTIN Guidance At commencement, your school sends you out to do the hardest job of all. It is one which takes courage, initiative, and a sense of responsibility - this task of being part of a team to create a better world for everyone. One individual by himself can create little when the task is such a great one. The thought of being, even in a small measure, respon sible for accomplishing such a task is frightening. Yet it is with con- fidence that your school sends you out to do your part. I We trust that your years in East Aurora High School have fitted you intelligently and actively to cooperate in every worthwhile effort to bring us closer to world peace. MR. WILLIAM BEEBE Guidance To the class of '54, as you leave E.A. and go forth on the un- charted oceans before you: Rember that you have conquered the storms, enjoyed calm days, and weathered both here. May you meet all the rough and calm seas which lie before you as success- fully as you have faced them here in E.A.H.S. lt's not the gale, but the set of your sail that determines where you go. l6l Wixvawe MR. MILLARD HENRY Senior Adviser Mr. Henry will long be remembered by all who know him as the man who did more toward our class as a whole than any other person. For several years now he has worked faithfully with us, encouraging us - when we needed it and helping us along the hard road' toward graduation. We cannot forget that much of the success of our magazine and Christmas card sales were because of his efforts. His famous home- room peptalks were taken to heart by most of us and his advice will serve as a real asset to our future. Mr. Henry, our hats are off to you! MISS EILEEN DIETRICH Senior Adviser To Miss Dietrich, our faithful adviser during our final and most prosperous year at East Aurora, goes our sincere thanks and appreciation. She has helped us over countless pitfalls during our senior year. She has given us a great deal of encouragement, guid- ance and help. Miss Dietrich will long be remember- ed for directing our class along the road to success. Any success that we may have in the future will be de- pendent--at least in part--upon the help that she has given us. MR. CARLO NISITA Senior Advisor To Mr. Carlo Nisita, our yearbook adviser, goes our sincere thanks for his faithful service to the Class of '54 in guiding us through the difficult job of publish- ing the yearbook. The road to success in this book has not been easy and our gratitude goes to Mr. Nisita for his guidance and understanding help with the product- ion. We want him to know that all the work he has done in order to make our yearbook a success has been ap- preciated. Like most of the previous year- book staffs, we began by spending too much of our time in discussing and dreaming and too little of it in actual work. However, once the various staffs settled down to work, things began to go more smoothly.
