The junior Play, briefed on another page of this volume was especially note- worthy for its lack of junior classmen but it just goes to show what a handful of good 1944 class members can do' The whole class got behind this and helped to make it a great success II Victory Week was a gala Schwab creation to promate the sale f S150 000 worth of War Bonds for the purchase of a C 46 by the school The seven day blowout was climaxed by the Victory Ball III The unzor Prom came in for some smooth handling by its director eannie Herold and its reigning king and queen Gay Mead and Shirley Malm After the ball was over the unior class cianged from evening dress to fatigue suits and moved in to clean up the gym In our last and senior year our advisors Harp and Hickey President C Schwab Vice Pres une Adams Treasurer G E Ruby Secretary Sally Vough and a depend able executive board all got on to a running start bv balancing the books and planning the mets Alice Wieder Miss McCann and Mrs Sam I aMant1a can bined their talents to give hungry East Aurorans the Senior Spaghetti Supper with meat balls Mountains of X' X ff XX f f f i n If 7 A I 3 1 A . , - . . A name for the fall reverse dance stumped us for a while but finally we called it the Harvest Hopf, Madame Fifi Isees all, knows all, tells all for a dimel was our swami from the Near East fAuroral, adding zest to the evening The old line Im working my way through college was changed to We re working our way through high school as we set out to sell six hundred dollars worth of magazine subscriptions We reached our goal with a handsome profit which made our bosoms swell with excusable senior pride The payoff was a swell roller-skating party at Creekside along the last of February. We had plenty of thrills, spills and free ice cream for our magazine-selling efforts. Mid-year found about ten per cent of us leaving for college or the armed forces. With the exception of golf, the other three sports maintained an intramural program, however. This spring with travel conditions improved, competition with other schools will again be resumed with all four sports fielding teams.
