The JV basketball team consists of Coach Howard Hosken, Randy Arduser, Scott Harter, Joe Childers, Gary Pennywell, Bob Jones, Dave Morgan, Gid Palmer, Curt Brandon, Spencer Sneed, Randy McElveen, Jarret Jester, and Manager Ray Mocan. JV ond Sophomore Boskefboll Under the direction of Coach Howard Hosken, the JV hoopsters posted a record of 15 wins and 3 losses for 1968-69 basketball season. This fine showing enabled the JV squad to capture the JV championship. They were matched against Palmer, Chugiak, West, Dimond, Fairbanks, and Kenai. Sparking the JV team's victorious drive were three outstanding ball players, Dave Morgan, Gary Pennywell, and Gid Palmer. Among others, these players will be a valuable addition to the varsity squad next year. Sophomore efforts were also successful. The rampaging sophomore cagers, led by Coach Bob Durado, finished the season with a perfect record. The undefeated team proved its superiority over all their local rivals in the action-packed season. Ski Teom With practice opening in mid-October, ski team members ran three miles every day. The running was to be conditioning for the challenging season ahead. The team effort and diligent work proved successful in individual and group competition. Top members faced the other top state ski opponents for the championship meet in March. This meet was held in Anchorage.
