Senior Class Plc l Remember Mama was presented by the Senior Class under the direction of lVlr. Wayne lVlergler on January 31 and February 1 in the East High auditorium. The play centered around a Norwegian immigrant family in San Francisco in the early l900's. lVlama, Becky Shear, was the heart of the family while Papa, Dave Hammock, supervised the household. The story is narrated by Katrin, Kathy Ross, the daughter who aspires to become a writer. Other members of the family included Nels, Bob Ortalda, the only song Christine, Robin Kissinger, and little Dagmar, Starla Fontana. Also adding to the comedy were three interfering aunts and the frightening Uncle Chris. I Remember Mama was a heart-warming drama of American family life, and of a strong woman who held her family together. Lee Phillips timidly asks Clay Hansen for the dowry as Gloriette Thompson and Laura Maakestad give a little moral support. Y Clay Hansen confronts Gloriette Thompson with bitter words over Starla Fontana's sickness as speechless members of the family watch. 5 is if We Becky Shear reveals Dave Hammock's generosity with his money and kindness to the skeptical aunts.

KEAR KEAR, East Anchorage Radio, is in its third year of operation. Starting as an idea in the 1966-67 school year, KEAR has grown to a small scale radio station. The station broadcasts before school, during both lunches, and after school from the projection room above the auditorium. Sponsored by lVlr. James Hamilton and run completely with the efforts and free time of four students, KEAR is the only inter-school radio station in the state. The students instrumental in the operation of KEAR are lVlarvin Godwin, Frank Tonnema, Jerry Balthazore, and Darryl Berkley. Frank Tonnema waits to take over as Jerry Balthazore finishes his show. KEAR disc jockey Jerry Balthazore cues a record after school. Anthony Anderson assists the regular workers in the station by checking the equipment. '
