Homecoming '68 Homecoming night, September 27, was the result of furious preparation and activity. The East Thunderbirds battled the Dimond Lynx for a capacity crowd at Mulcahy Stadium. At halftime, the flag corps and majorettes preceded the band onto the field for their routines. Following the band's performance, the princesses and their escorts were presented to the audience. Queen Debbie Craig received a trophy and roses and was escorted by Bob Conklin through the traditional DeMolay Arch of Swords. As a finale the Queen was carried around the field by Key Club members while the band played. The Thunderbirds charged into the game to beat the Lynx for a 30-7 victory. At the closing gun, Eastsiders, thronging onto the field, chanted Championship, championship, here we come! In the same mood participants returned to the school for a dance featuring the Manhattan Project band. 5. vt i as' Smiling exuberantly over her bouquet of roses and trophy, donated by Bovey Trophies, Queen Debbie Craig is cheered by the crowd.
