The Student Government at East Allegheny is very active and devot- ed They take part in governing the school and sponsoring several ac- tivities during the school year such as, Homecoming Dance, movies for school assemblies, March of Dimes Walk-a-thon and most of all the student Council is there for the student body, anyone is welcome to any of the meetings If there is something that bothers you about the school or something you would like to see happen at our school sit in on a meeting and bring your idea up, you never know and neither does the Student Council until you speak up. SOCIAL TUDIES SEMINA g The Social Studies Seminar at E.A. is an inspiring group that explores the ideals of the Social Studies course. The advisor of the organization is Mr. Leo West. The club intends to be more ac- tive in future years. The I985-86 Gate Program was working this year to discuss their interests and research them. Dr. Zorich and Mr. Mauro guided them through the year. They worked on independent learning and com- puter operation. This years students went on a field trip to Penn-State McKeesport for a course in speed-reading. They also studied college life while they were there. In short, each student will be learning sup- plemental programs designed to benefit their major interests.
