IF FOR SUCCESS If you trust though others doubt you And conquer fears that limit what you dare So you can freely give to those about you The skills and talents that are yours to share, If you can live, not for your pleasure only, But gladly lend your gentleness and grace To warm the hearts of those whose lives are And help to make their world a better place, If you can balance dreams with practicality And deal in facts, but never lose ideals. If you can face the harshness of reality And find the truths that prejudice conceals, If you can be courageous when defeated And humble in the face of victory. Or give your best until a task's completed. However difficult that task may be, If you can temper facts with understanding And seek to gently guide, not to control, And neither be too lax nor too demanding. But keep in mind the worth of every soul, If you can strive not caring who, gets credit, And work at building bridges and not walls, Or hearing idle slander, just forget it And never fail to help someone who falls, If you can give your help without begrudging The patience, time and effort you impart, Or look at others' weakness without judging lonely And see, DOI with your eyes, but with your heart, If you can take resources that surround you And use them in ways you feel you should, Daneen Estok You'll be a success . . . and all those around you Will be the richer for your lives! Gale Baker Stanton Wow! It is finally over, all of the excitment, the worry about who's going to do this who's going to do that, the wondering of how does this look or should we try this or should we try that, all of the ideas of our sponsors. staff and editors is finally finished for the l986 yearbook. Acting as editor of the '86 Pawprint has been an experience that will never be forgotten. I will always cherish this yearbook ecspecially because it is a book that I had so much control of putting together. Producing a yearbook involves a lot of responsibility and a lot of hard work. Layouts seem to get backed up, it always seems like there is a picture that needs to be taken, a write up is needed to complete the page or a title needs to be thought of. But from past yearbook experiences I know the feeling of how nice it is to see your work in print and knowing how important to my classmates the memories that they would always cherish all put inside of this book. I would like to thank Ms. Barb Bacco and Mr. Richard Stewart for sponsoring this yearbook and pushing the yearbook staff and me. And also for teaching us the meaning of responsibility and what it is to work at something and to see what it is to accomplish it. I would also like to thank the staff. We all worked hard to get this yearbook finished and everyones dedication made it happen and saved us from having long hot summer meetings. Finally I would like to thank you, the students of East Allegheny. Thanks for the poses, the interviews, the ideas and the confidence you placed in your local yearbook staff by purchasing this yearbook. To my fellow graduates, the Class of '86, I would like to wish you all the best in the future, and I hope you can make all your dreams come true. I hope that this yearbook will be a happy reminder of where you've been and all that you've done. The times we've spent here at East Allegheny are ones we can always cherish in our yearbooks and in our hearts. 192 Thank you and God Bless, Daneen Estok
