Social Studies Seminar Social Studies Seminar is a club for students who are interested in Social Studies. The club handles many history related programs throughout the school year. Such events as Law Day, the CMU History Fair, and field trips to hear various political speakers are all part of the clubs activities. Also during the year, many speakers were invited to talk to the members ot SS. Speeches on Banking investments, Reaganomics, and many other topics were enjoyed by the group. As the population ot this organization continues to grow, so too does the knowledge of the students concerning the world around them. . . .. .. Q --mugs :g .. Student Council The Student Council of East Allegheny is a vital organization which offers our students pleasure ,and t learning experiences. The Student Council participates in such affairs as Homecoming, the Student Exchange program, and acting as guides for Open House. During the school year, Student Council made the lives of the students a bit more bearable through the Jive Turkey Contest lwon by the Juniorsl and movies which helped to break up the monotony. National l-lonor Society The National Honor Society is an organization whose members are selected by the faculty tor their outstanding academic accomplishments as well as for their participation in extra-curricular activities. The students who are selected to become members, as well as old members, participate in a special induction ceremony and must maintain a 3.2 grade point average. This year's N.H.S., under sponsor Fred Frost, enjoyed a pizza Christmas party. Along with the pleasures, the organization also had to organize the induction ceremony which recognized the academic achievement of the students. QL to Fil Kris Kolesar - Treasurer, Brian Pinge - V.
