MEM RIES, LIGHT THE CORNERS OF MY MIND. MISTY WATER COLOR MEM'RIES OF THE WAY WE WERE. SCATTERED PICTURES OF THE SMILES WE LEFT BEHIND, SMILES WE GAVE TO ONE ANOTHER, FOR THE WAY WE WERE. CAN IT BE THAT IT WAS ALL SO SIMPLE THEN, OR HAS TIME REWRITTEN EV'RY LINE? IF WE HAD THE CHANCE TO DO IT ALL AGAIN, TELL ME WOULD WE? COULD WE? MEM RIES, MAY BE BEAUTIFUL AND YET, WHATS TOO PAINFUL TO REMEMBER, WE SIMPLY CHOOSE TO FORGET. SO ITS THE LAUGHTER WE WILL REMEMBER WHENEVER WE REMEMBER THE WAY WE WERE. THE WAY WE WERE. Marvin Hamlisch It is hard to understand how much hard work and long hours go into making a yearbook, unless you are on the staff. But believe me, it isn't as easy as some people think. In this bicentennial year especially, it was my responsibility and that of my staff to present a book to the seniors that they would always cherish as memories of their final year at E.A. I hope this is what we've accomplished, a collage of ideas and memories for the purpose of laughter, smiles and probably tears. I would like to thank many people for their cooperation and help this past year, teachers and the ad- ministration for their patienceg students for their diligent work and Mr. Adams and his photography staff for supplying us with the needed pictures even when they were requested on such short notice. His patience and skill were greatly appreciated. I would like to personally express my appreciation to everyone who helped me this year. I have learned much about working with people, and this was an experience in itself. I hope, with all my heart, that everyone enjoys reading the 1976 PAWPRINT, because it was the goal which we have worked so hard to achieve Editor-in-chief throughout the year. Finally, to the 1976 Senior Class, good-by, good luck, and God bless you. WALSWORTH 224 Marceline, Mo., U.S.A. t
