Chorus Choral concerts and the annual musical production kept chorus members busy with rehearsals, performances, and recitals. Their performances include a Christmas, Mid-Winter, and Spring Concert. The play begins in the sinister interior of a workhouse. After a meager meal of thin gruel, Oliver wanted some more. Such in- solence left lVlr. Bumble no choice but to sell the boy to an un- dertaker. He ran away the very next morning and was picked up hungry and tired by the Artful Dodger. The Dodger takes him to Fagin where he learns how to pick pockets. Fagin sends the boys off in the morning to earn a day's living. Oliver was arrested and accused of stealing a wallet that Dodger stole. Nancy kidnapped Oliver from lVlr. Brownlow's house before the boy could talk. Oliver returned to Fagin's kitchen. Nancy went to see lVlr. Brownlow who learned that Oliver is his grandson. lVlr. Brownlow and Nancy plan to meet at the London Bridge to exchange Oliver. Bill Sikes catches Nancy in the act and murders her. The crowd seeks out Bill Sikes who now has Oliver. Sikes threatens to kill Oliver, and a policeman kills Sikes.
