Communications Lab Proves To Be A Valuable New Addition To The English Department Consistent with the total philosophy, the English Program continually strives to satisfy needs of individual students. This year a highly individualized reading lab, directed by a reading specialist, played a major role in the English Program. Specific reading problems were iden- tified and dealt with, through counseling, pro- grammed material and sophisticated machinery. Numerous field trips, which included visits to Old Economy, Greater Pittsburgh Airport, the University of Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Museum, became an integral part of the students experi- ences. Speed reading and basic oral communi- cations were offered for the first time as a re- sult of student interest.
